Subject:Moving day is nearly upon us
Time:9:45 pm.
On May 18th the journey continues with stops in NY and Toronto before landing in our new home of portland, OR. We were just there for 3 weeks where we 1. decided we couldn't live without Jasons family ;-) 2. bought a gorgeous yet humble victorian house from the 1880s in the only "urban" neighborhood in portland (which also is very close to the largest park in the pacific north west complete with witch's house, 500 year old moss-dripped trees 3. found schools for the kids 4. found a Ducth meetup group so the kids can keep speaking Dutch 4. Went to the Bike Film festival (where Jason has work) 5. Saw several people we know from other cities like Shel, which validated Portland propaganda stating that it is the new _______ (insert anything interesting) for people from SF, NY and Europe.

Come visit!

Subject:More past as present
Time:10:43 pm.
Oh I don't know 10 years ago or so, Engsan and I did a lifesize paperdoll fashion show at collective unconscious with paper clothes done by fashion friends. Tomorrow Jason and I are making lifesize paperdoll fashions with the kids as emiko's school. (I teach a tools and materials exploration class once a week- yes it is still preschool) One could only imagine why this type of project would be done twice in a lifetime.

In other non business, non-kid, and non technology projects, idea fan patches, flash based performance and video of ideas and their people with pop/narration mash-up soundtrack and thursday night's upcoming urban exploration cruise. The bes way to see Amsterdam's underbelly is by tiny rickety boat with tiny rickety captain of course.

Also- an all new HERE game in time for the holidays.

Subject:US friendship tour
Time:6:14 am.
Alas we leave tomorrow so happy to have spent time with the people who mean the most to us. What a great feeling for ourselves and a great example to the kids to be able to maintain relationships with people in so many places. This trip has definately taken it's toll on us, especially the young ones but has been a great regrounding for us living so far away.

So big ups to Portland, Jacksonville, Williamsburg, Forte Greene, St. Augustine, Pine Island and Woodstock for hosting us on our big adventure.

Lots of Love.

Subject:double fathers day
Time:4:28 am.
although i don't have a father, i has the pleasure of celebrating fathers day twice yesterday:

first stop forte green park for a brunch picnic with ESK, em and tabor with a Gum 2 book in hand and second stop for a dinner picnic with JW, em and tabor with a copy of Situationist City in hand. Our dysfunctional family is so rad. Did I mention that while in NY we're all staying at ESK's and he is staying at a friends? So cool. Maybe thats why emiko is so socially progressive in the last 2 days she has befriended a group of mexican girls of all ages in mccaren park and a group of 8 kids today by saying "I have an idea. Let's play..." (as she proceeded tp make up games).

Subject:home away from home
Time:8:59 am.
portland is amazing. yesterday jake was in town and we went to mount tabor to collect volcanic rock from tabor's namesake. it feels good to be with jason's family. they are so grounded. things flow here.

we're learning how to be a family with 2 kids and a company >>>> scheduling. the key is strict planning. imagine how tough that is for me and jw. you know the biggest surprise? it feels great- it's hard but every minute seems worth it. it's almost like a cliche tv sitcom. (from the 50s) it seems old fashioned to have kids and to exert so much eneregy on bedtime rituals and cooking dinner and picking up messes. it's a way of life i had never pictured for myself. i never had a picture of "adulthood". we even played tennis today. lately i feel like a grown up. hmmm.

i've started smoking again.

there is a great underground, seedy circus on thursday viva portland!

our site is live for new co we have a blog.

engsan is town- emiko's party in on sunday- she will be 3.

stood in line for several hours trying to get tabor's passport so we can travel next week.

i think life will just be like this for now- learning how to have 2 kids, new friends, new company.

i started a new community on orkut called whose shelves- please join if your into that kind of stuff.

i am not yet exhausted. this is a good sign.

Subject:queens day & 2 angry junkies
Time:10:56 pm.
1. last night during the HERE game we drew the card "Do a street performance until you earn a euro. Of course I thought we should collaborate with the junkie playing the base in front of a crowded Tofani. So, with Jason, Herman dancing behind and me with the baby passing around a hat (and jaq watching in shame) he came over to me angry with his own cup, pushing me out of the way and staring me down. I explained I was collecting for him and he proceeded to throw his cup and yell "I'll do it myself". I backed off after only making 50 euro cents but we met some cools folks who witnessed the event.
2. today at the oh sooooo crowded kids queensday event in vondel park after a sun-filled, play-filled, shopping filled day we walked toward the exit. we didnt leave before angry junkie #2 smeared some kind of food mush INTENTIONALLY all over my shirt.

i love amsterdam.

Subject:becoming 32
Time:11:31 pm.
is the fact that i am nearly 32 responsible for this new zen outlook on life? this peace and enjoyment of every moment? other possible factors:
1. my new son and my wonderful family
2. my dope house
3. postpartum- i no longer weigh a zillion pounds and feel immobile
4. the new company an d the exciting emails that have started coming in

i'm sure its fleeting and in a few days i will go back to worrying about money, stressing out about new business and fretting about everything i've fogotten to do.

for now i am enjoying it.

today our house still a wreck- the fate of an entrepreneurial couple with 2 kids. productivity level high- even manage to chip away at the mound of dutch administration we have at all times.
